Shiso Leaf, Pickled, Red, Powdered
From Japan. Authentic. A by-product of umeboshi production. Shiso leaf is used to flavor the umeboshi throughout the pickling process, during which time they turn dark red, colored by the ume (plums). The leaves are then removed from the brine, dried and powdered. And there you have it. Powdered Pickled Shiso Leaf. A unique flavor. Excellent as a topper.
